Art at St. Rita

With our youngest students we emphasize the process not the product, letting them explore art materials and see what happens.  Activities are planned for the next level to inspire them to communicate through visual art and aide in their development as young artists. 

With art we hope to encourage imagination and the ability to solve problems, sometimes, within set parameters. 

Art experiences can provide opportunity for original thought where sometimes there are no boundaries dictated by what is right or wrong but simply what is POSSIBLE.

Students need to be aware of the way  art is composed of lines, shapes, textures, patterns and colors.Through their experiences we respect them as individuals and ask them to explain their artistic vision.
