ABOUT THE TEACHER

Hi! My name is Patty Hyman.  I am so exited to be your child's PreK4 teacher this year!  I believe that communication with parents is essential to students' success.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns and/or feedback. 

Everything I do with your child has a purpose or goal. We work on social emotional learning, fine and gross motor muscle development and religion along with the standard academics.  I use themes for academic learning so students will also be learning about things such as the seasons, apples & pumpkins, polar animals, dental health, space. A large part of your Pre-K is learning is accomplished through play. A Pre-K classroom looks a lot different than school age, but trust me, your child is learning!  I follow the NYS Pre-K learning standards when developing my lessons.  

You will be amazed at how much your child will grow and change from the beginning of the school year to the end!

Career Path

Accounting was my first career.  Teaching came later but it is my calling and it is definitely where my heart is!  Once I completed my studies in Education, my husband and I started a family.  I was incredibly blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom for 10 years until my youngest started school.  When I re-entered the workforce, I taught at Woodside Nursery School for 5 years.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Master's in Education Degree (Concentration in Literacy).  I am certified in Elementary Education (birth - grade 6) and in Literacy (birth - grade 12).

Personal

I am the proud mom of 2 boys (14 and 11) .  I have been happily married for 25 years.  We have 2 Boston Terriers nameed Oreo and Harley.

I have lived in the Rochester area for my entire life.  I grew up in Chili.  After getting married, we lived in Brighton for 10 years and have lived in Webster for 15 years.

In my free time I love to spend time with my family, read,  garden and play logic and word games.
