“O God, by your name save me. By your strength defend my cause.
O God, hear my prayer. Listen to the words of my mouth.” - Psalm 54
Dear Parishioners and Friends:
We wish to extend a warm welcome to June Frosino who joins our parish community as our new Music Director. June has a wealth of experience directing choirs of all ages, leading music and providing music lessons. She will be active in both the church and school, leading and teaching. We are so blessed here at St. Rita to have such a variety of talent in our musicians, cantors, choir members and all who add such depth to our prayerful liturgies. Please see the article of introduction below from June.
The importance of music can be found in Hebrew Scriptures particularly in the Psalms that are attributed to King David who sang and danced before the Lord. So too, our songs are an expression of love to God who makes it possible for us to sing God’s praises.
This Sunday, our Christ Life program begins in the parish center at 5:30pm. Please pray for all of our participants.
Parents are reminded that Faith Formation classes begin this Monday afternoon and evening. Be sure to check in with Anita Wagner, our Faith Formation Director if you have any questions. Our volunteer catechists are prepared to meet your children and enjoy another successful year!
Also on Monday night at 6:30pm in Church is our Confirmation Parent Meeting for 1st and 2nd year parents of students. Marie Marton can assist if you have a child in 8th grade or older who hasn’t registered for this very important sacrament.
DID YOU KNOW? That the Sacrament of Confirmation is the completion of the Baptismal Sacrament? Many people do not realize that in order to be a sponsor for Confirmation - or a godparent for a child for Baptism - You need to have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. It’s never too late to be confirmed!
May God bless you!
A Note from our New Music Director!
Hello! I am June Weltzer Frosino and I am very excited to be joining St. Rita’s as Director of Music. I will be planning and providing music for weekend Masses and other liturgies, and will also be teaching instrumental music in the school. I feel honored to work with others to contribute musically to the liturgy. It is a privilege to bring the gifts of music to the Lord. The Roman Catholic liturgy is so rich, and I love sharing the joy of worshipping the Lord with others through music.
I have been involved in Music Ministry for over forty years, as a cantor, pianist, organist, flutist, and guitarist, and more recently as Director of Music. I grew up in Greece and attended Holy Name of Jesus Church, where I became Director of Music. Since 2014 I have been ministering at St. Patrick’s Church in Victor. I have directed a variety of different choirs with people of all ages, and I am humbled by the beautiful sound that we can create together for the Glory of God. Over the years, I have ministered with music in the Long Term Health Care senior setting, have worked with and taught young children and teens, and have also taught young adults at Brockport College.
My husband, Tony, and I live in Chili, and we have two sons: Anthony, who is now with the Lord, and our younger son, Michael, who is serving in the military overseas. I am so happy to be coming to St. Rita’s. I thank you for the warm welcome I have already received and look forward to meeting you and worshipping the Lord together!
