“The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” ~Matthew 23
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
The Feast of All Saints and the commemoration of All Souls brings to mind loved family members, friends, fellow parishioners and people we have known who are now deceased.
So this Sunday, we will again bless the graves of the deceased at the West Webster Cemetery across from our church on Maple Drive. Immediately following the 10:30am mass (about 11:40am), we will gather at the site of the old St. Rita church across from the rectory for a special prayer of blessing. We will then ask those present to cross the street to the cemetery and stand at the burial plot of their loved one for an individual blessing.
This past Saturday we offered a special mass of remembrance and lit candles for all deceased members of St. Rita Parish. The names of those who died in the past year were individually read, along with other names of family members. So know that your loved one is prayed for and not forgotten as we commend them into the mercy of God.
In this Year of the Eucharist, we will have a special prayer service this Tuesday evening at 7:00pm in Church. It will include the rosary along with Eucharistic Adoration and Exposition. Please see the bulletin for details on this Diocesan-wide endeavor.
May God bless you!
