“Lord, make us turn to You and we shall be saved.” ~Psalm 80

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Happy Advent! We begin the season of Advent this weekend with the lighting of the Advent wreath. Many people have already begun decorating inside and outside with lights, wreaths and trees.

My great appreciation to our Boy Scout troop 163 for helping us put up our giant trees behind the altar in church. This is a huge task. These trees will be lit on Christmas Eve.

This Friday, December 8th, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, a holy day of obligation. There will be a Holy day mass of anticipation at 7:00pm on Thursday evening, December 7th. Then on Friday December 8th we will have an 8:15am mass and a 9:15am mass which our school children will be leading and attending. All are welcome!

On Wednesday, December 13th we will have our Parish Advent Penance Service beginning at 7:00pm. Visiting priests will be joining us for individual confessions. As an option, confessions can be also heard in the Spanish language. Additionally, confessions are offered after every Wednesday following mass at 8:45am and on Saturdays between 3:30-4:30pm.

Be sure to mark your calendars for many upcoming advent opportunities:

Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction will be offered every Wednesday during advent from 1:00pm-3:00pm beginning this Wednesday, December 6, December 13 and December 20.

On Sunday December 10th at 2:00pm we will have Lessons and Carols, a musically prayer-filled afternoon event you won’t want to miss! Beautiful advent prayers and songs will be presented by all of our choirs and music groups led by our Music Director Joe Kwiatkowski and with the gracious assistance of Chrisanne Gates, our former Music Director.

Visit with Santa following the 9:00am and 10:30am masses on Sunday, December 17th. Join us for donuts and juice and even a picture with Santa! Breakfast Club will still be served that weekend.

On Tuesday, December 12th (Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe) our St. Rita Society is hosting an exciting, super fun, musical, Pre-Christmas party with snacks and all the Advent/Christmas songs you can sing! All are welcome!

Bring everybody along to all of these events and much more!

May God bless you this week!
